You can get 1,200 Qantas Points for every 1,000 Capital One miles that you transfer by 11:59pm ET on 5/31 after a 20% transfer bonus!
As you can see from this miles expiration post, Qantas points won’t expire as long as you earn or redeem 1 mile every 18 months.
You can use Qantas points for domestic award bargains on AA and Alaska flights for domestic award bargains on AA and Alaska flights.
You can also use Qantas points to fly on El Al, though El Al blocks access to long-haul business class space with Qantas points. You can use 37.8K Qantas points (31.5K Capital One miles) in coach, 70,800 Qantas points (59K Capital One miles) in premium economy, or 90K Qantas points (75K Capital One miles) in business for a one-way ticket on El Al between NYC and Tel Aviv without fuel surcharges.
Note that rates are going up for bookings made as of August 5th.
The good news is that you can lock in rates for future travel by booking now. If you do have to make a date change, you can do so for a penalty of 5,000 points, but you won’t have to pay the difference in fare for the higher chart. If you do have to cancel your trip and redeposit your points, there is a penalty of 6,000 points. Some DansDeals readers have reported that not all agents wind up charging these fees, so quite literally, your mileage may vary.

Ugh I transferred 4 days ago. I guess I cant complain too much though because the flight is no longer available today but still frustrating when that happens.
Same!
keep in mind capital 1 is no longer instant transfer as of now to many partners qantas included
I just did a 1000 Capital One transfer and it posted instantly in to my Qantas account with the 200 bonus as well
I am finding it impossible to open a Qantas account. Does anybody have any tips?
I still haven’t been able to open one. I tried every browser I know of.
Let me know if you figure it out.
how do quantas rates on elal compare to virgins?
There’s no ‘U’ in Qantas (Queensland And Northern Territory Aerial Services)
when you says that you can switch the flight for 5000 miles. i would assume that means it still needs to have award availability? or would this be a way to book flights with no more award avilability?
You need award space unless there’s a schedule change.
I already have the Venture X since ’21, in Aug I was denied the VentureOne. can I apply now for the Venure and still get the 75K miles offer?
Sure
Just to clarify, I am able to purchase a coach class ticket jfk to Israel on ElAl for 37.8K regardless of cash price Elal is charging (I am referring to peak season) ?
You can search for availability on Qantas.com.
I transferred points yesterday and it took almost 24 hours to come in to my Qantas account but I didn’t get the bonus. Does the bonus come in separately?
It’s been more than 48 hours by now and it says on my capital one account redemption history that I got the bonus but it never came in to my Qantas account. Any idea of how I can resolve this issue?
Heads up that Qantas can’t ticket an infant in their own seat. They only can do lap infant
Just make up the birthday. It’s irrelevant.
Can I open a Qantas frequent flyer account to transfer my Capital One miles so I can buy an El Al ticket for my son? Is it a problem that credit card account name (mine) is different than the traveler? Whose name goes on the Qantas account?
