how come i was never told my number? š

Nobody was. If you entered then you were given a confirmation of how many entries you had. I then assigned each entrant a block of numbers that corresponded to the number of entries that they had.
I used random.org to pick a winning number and then went back to the master list to determine who had that number in their assigned block of numbers.
